My furnace was leaking monoxide

For a long time I just ignored the fact that I felt like crap throughout my day.

Anytime I was home I felt tired, sluggish, and kind of sick.

My flu-like symptoms never seemed to disappear. I then heard that a furnace can release carbon monoxide if you aren’t careful. I bought a detector and sure enough, my device was leaking it badly. I called my Terrell, Texas furnace repair business to take a look at the issue. Turns out that the heat exchanger is the culprit for leaking monoxide. When the heat exchanger is cracked, you are done for. The cost of a new exchanger is on par with a brand new furnace. So it wasn’t a good idea to spring for such a hefty repair. I ended up having to replace my entire gas furnace since it was such a safety hazard. Now that I have a newer model, I am way better about furnace service. I have the furnace regularly cleaned, oiled, and tightened by my Terrell heating company professionals. I have them check and inspect all moving parts. I make sure to avoid repairs whenever possible. However, sometimes repairs do come up. I have learned that the first sign of trouble, it is imperative to call. If you smell, feel, or hear something wrong, reach for the phone. I am not going to make the same mistake twice. I also have a carbon monoxide detector installed in my home just to be safe. The last thing I want to do is be slowly poisoned again.
